Under the direction of Professor Brent Haddad, the project manager will coordinate and support the activities of an expert panel that will evaluate proposals for the long-term restoration and management of the Salton Sea. The proposals include engineering, environmental, economic, and social-impact elements, all of which will be evaluated. The project manager will coordinate information flows among the expert panel, UCSC-based researchers, subcontracted researchers, representatives with the state Department of Water Resources and California Natural Resources Agency, companies and individuals with proposed restoration projects, and the public. The project manager will identify and seek to resolve delays in the project, while reporting regularly to Professor Haddad. The project manager will also support Professor Haddad in preparing required reports, planning field studies, and managing public information on the website.
