Australia nationals: Hydrology Section Manager
The Bureau of Meteorology's Research Program is undertaking a reorganisation to increase its impact and value for the Bureau's customers, and its operational excellence.
The Hydrology Section Manager is a newly defined role within the Science and Innovation Group, who will lead the scientific development of seamless hydrological services and ensure coherence across all Bureau’s hydrological applications. The Section Manager will also provide clarity on responsibilities across the Research Program when it comes to engagement with internal Bureau customers and partners, and external partners.
The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to define and drive the implementation of the reorganisation's main aims and deliver:
1. A clear alignment with the Research Program's body of work with the four outcomes of the Bureau's Research and Development Plan 2020-2030;
2. The integration of hydrological modelling within the Research Program;
3. An alignment of the research program capability with the newly created Research to Operations Program within the Science and Innovation Group; and
4. Several projects in development that will set and prioritise the investments necessary to achieve the four objectives of the Research and Development Plan.
