The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment is currently seeking multiple Senior Project Officers to join the Water Infrastructure NSW division within our Water Group.

Senior Project Officer – Governance

Develop, influence, shape and implement portfolio governance frameworks and processes for the Division’s water infrastructure pipeline. Propose future-focused and innovative initiatives that add value to the Division. Monitor and analyse the efficiency and outcomes of frameworks and implement a continuous process for review and improvement.

Senior Project Officer - Risk and Assurance

Develop, influence, shape and implement portfolio risk and assurance frameworks and processes for the Division’s water infrastructure pipeline. Propose future-focused and innovative initiatives that add value to the Division. Monitor and analyse the efficiency and outcomes of frameworks and implement a continuous process for review and improvement.

Senior Project Officer - Regional Water Project Interfaces

Assists with managing the regional water capital works program interfaces and liaise with key stakeholders on individual projects in order to improve delivery of regional water infrastructure projects that achieve water security across NSW, drive economic growth in regional NSW economies, support towns and communities and enhance environmental outcomes.

Senior Project Officer - Commonwealth Project Interfaces

Assists with managing the interactions with the Commonwealth Government on the NSW capital works program, including the NSW Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism (SDLAM) projects and other projects for which the NSW Government is seeking or has obtained Commonwealth Government funding.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Provide assistance to the team and management by providing advice to inform discussions with key internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders including WaterNSW, Infrastructure NSW, Commonwealth Government, Department of Regional NSW and local governments
  • Provide support to negotiations between NSW government agencies and assist with delivering key planning documents
  • Develop and maintain a range of collaborative networks across the Division, Water Group and external agencies, including participation in Committees, to represent Water Infrastructure NSW’s interests and facilitate the provision of information and advice to industry, Government, and the community.
  • Contribute to and prepare briefing materials for the CEO, Minister and Cabinet on project status, key issues and risks, and contribute to regular reporting to relevant governance bodies including steering committees and working groups.
  • Contribute to a high performing team that has the technical expertise and capability to work with key stakeholders to assist with delivering the NSW water capital works program
