Additional Job Details

As a member of the company’s environmental social governance (ESG) organization, support implementation and improvement of the company’s environmental compliance and sustainability programs. Working under the direction of the Program Leader – Environmental Sustainability, this position will be the primary technical support for Supply Chain operations, providing focused expertise in the areas of water/wastewater, stormwater, waste management, spill prevention control & countermeasure (SPCC), chemical inventory and reporting and release management (EPCRA), and air compliance (refrigerants, emissions, etc.). This position will also support greenhouse gas and other resource baselining activities and the development of an Environmental Social Governance (ESG) program for the larger corporation.


(75%) Supply Chain Center (SCC) Environmental Compliance

  • Work collaboratively with facility and corporate staff to ensure compliance to environmental regulations and internal policies/procedures
  • Provide technical support and expertise for environmental permits/programs at the 28 US & Canadian Supply Chain Centers
  • Provide training and education to the SCC staff on environmental programs
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of environmental policies, procedures, and data management
  • Document and track environmental permits and compliance activities via the environmental management tool (Intelex)
  • Coordinate with auditors to evaluate SCC environmental performance during internal audit and assist in development of corrective measures post-audit
  • Document environmental incidents via the internal incident reporting tool and participate in the investigation/corrective action process; coordinate with third party vendors for spill cleanup
  • Prepare permit applications/renewals and other regulatory submittals; correspond with regulators as necessary
  • Work alongside Engineering Department to execute environmental capital improvement projects

(25%) Environmental Sustainability

  • Coordinate with facility and corporate staff to compile company-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) and environmental performance data annually
  • Develop, augment, and implement processes to standardize and validate environmental data and work with facility staff to ensure these processes are followed
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and targets for improvement
  • Work with facility and corporate teams to pursue environmental sustainability objectives


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Policy, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Expertise in the application of US & Canadian environmental regulations
  • 3 years of experience in corporate environmental compliance
  • Expertise and experience on the policies, methods and/or approaches for measuring and mitigating GHG emissions
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to execute, prioritize and drive multiple priorities without losing focus or momentum
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Must be a Team Player and work well in cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Previous experience with compliance management tools (e.g. Intelex) preferred
