The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), a leading US college in environmental education, research and training located in Syracuse, NY, seeks PhD applicants for a new initiative in Environmental Data Science (EDS).  Students would engage in research at the intersection of data science and the environmental sciences in topic areas involving hydrology and water resources, microbial and systems ecology, geospatial analyses and remote sensing, and environmental monitoring and modeling (see https://www.esf.edu/eds/). We are particularly interested in applicants with some prior experience in coding, analytics, and machine learning.  Multiple funding opportunities are available, especially for students able to enroll in August 2020 or January 2021.  Interested applicants should email Chuck Kroll at cnkroll@esf.edu, including a current CV attached to the email.
