Environmental Specialist (Junior)
Monitor and audit client operations on a regular basis to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Clean Air Act (CAA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Maintain required environmental operation procedures to ensure client and employee awareness, comprehension, and adherence to approved health, safety, and environmental practices. Maintain a program for issuing empty and receiving full hazardous waste containers. Coordinate packaging, labeling, and transportation of hazardous waste to an approved treatment, storage, and disposal facility. Prepare and submit necessary government paperwork.
-1+ years of experience with performing Internet research and using databases and Web-based data management reporting systems
-Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
-Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and policies
-Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
-Ability to manage time effectively and demonstrate flexibility in responding to conflicting deadlines and priorities
-Ability to assist with the preparation of presentations
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree
-Experience with supporting DoD programs
-Knowledge of the structure and missions of DoD components
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and analytical skills
-Secret clearance a plus
-BA or BS degree in Science, Environmental Policy, or a related field preferred
