Globally, water resources are increasingly under stress. As companies need water for their value creation, they have a clear interest of reducing the water risks they are facing. Since 10 years, WWF has been working on finding solutions to corporate water risks. The Water Risk Filter tool is one of WWF’s flagship tool for raising corporate awareness of water risks and driv-ing water stewardship actions. The open position is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to join the world’s leading conservation NGO. The role focusses on supporting the Water Risk Filter team to deliver on corporate partnership deliverables as well as support other data analy-sis and GIS mapping of water risk- to achieve WWF’s Freshwater Practice goals.

The Water Risk Filter team in Berlin is looking – as soon as possible in full-time employment with a limited contract for 2 years – for a

Water Risk Filter Officer (f/m/d)

This requires mainly the following skills:

  • Support on data upgrades and general Water Risk Filter tool maintenance tasks
  • Support the Water Risk Filter Team with data analysis and deliverables (e.g. report writing, powerpoint presentations, workshops) related to corporate partnerships
  • Support the Water Risk Filter Team with the development and implementation of new functionalities in the tool
  • Support raising awareness for the Water Risk Filter internally at WWF and externally and support with development of communication materials (e.g., case studies, videos, blogs, reports, publications)
  • Conduct data analysis to support reaching the goals of the WWF Freshwater Practice
  • Provide technical support to day-to-day user requests
  • Support the Water Risk Filter team in proposal development and project acquisition

You identify with the objectives of WWF and have the fol-lowing credentials/qualifications:

  • University degree (at least Bachelor, Master or equivalent desired) in one of the fol-lowing areas: GIS, natural resources management, environmental sciences, ecology, engineering, or related fields
  • Excellent GIS and data analysis skills including visualization, Desirable: programming and remote sensing skills
  • Experience in project management and working with the private sector
  • Strong communication and writing skills, ability to interact convincingly with people at various levels of seniority and diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Able to work in a diverse and global network, to balance and manage multiple de-mands and priorities, and work with a diverse group of internal and external stake-holders
  • Adhere to WWF's values: knowledgeable, optimistic, determined and engaging.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, organised, detail-oriented and delivery focused
  • Business fluent in English. Desirable: fluent in German and/or other languages
