Job Summary

Safe Water Network has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, detail oriented individual to join our Business Development Team. The primary focus will be to support individual and corporate giving. The successful candidate will be someone who is resourceful, comfortable taking initiative, and working in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Function as an integral part of the Individual and Corporate Giving team. Proactively engage in donor-related activities:
    • Identify likely high-net worth individuals and potential corporate donors (with a focus on the India diaspora community)
    • Secure and participate in meetings with high net worth individuals
    • Assist with material required for donor/prospect meetings
    • Advance corporate outreach campaigns as necessary
  2. Responsible for overall stewardship of individual and corporate donors
    • Manage systems and procedures around gift processing and stewardship
    • Drive donor stewardship programs, including donor acknowledgement, coordination with program teams for donor reporting, stewardship requirements, coordination with the Finance team for proper accounting and financial reporting
    • Manage gifts and stewarding for fundraising products, including Sponsor-A-Station, Retail Beverage Initiative, Founder’s Circle, etc.
  3. Serve as primary point person for the planning and execution of donor events
    • Assign and coordinate staff roles and responsibilities
    • Manage invite and attendee list
    • Manage vendor relationships and on-site logistics
    • Secure and manage in-kind and table sponsorships
    • Coordinate with Finance team to develop and manage budget, track sponsorships and ticket sales, etc. 
    • Coordinate with Communications and Engagement Manager on creative requirements and content (i.e., videography, invitation content, signage)
    • Engage with high net worth individuals at events
  4. Maintain donor database (DonorPerfect)
    • Manage data entry (on donor activity, communications, events, gifts, etc.) and reporting
    • Work with the Finance team to ensure gifts are recorded in line with accounting requirements
    • Maintain an updated pipeline for individual and corporate donors in DonorPerfect
    • Assist in building staff competency with DonorPerfect
  5. Support development and execution of the Individual and Corporate Giving communications plan, working closely with the Communications and Engagement Manager on:
    • Outreach and fundraising campaigns, including Annual Appeal, Giving Tuesday, etc.
    • Collateral and marketing material development
    • Management of communications to online, monthly, annual giving donors (i.e., Individual Giving Newsletter)
    • Assist in creation of photos/videos/stories for periodic updates to major donors

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight of temps, interns, and related committees
  • Basic research on donor prospects (companies and individuals)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with DonorPerfect or similar donor management databases
  • 4-7 years professional experience, with at least 2 years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, and/or gift management role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with international teams a plus
  • Non-profit experience a plus
  • Design experience a plus
