Currently enrolled in a Dutch HBO/WO Institute: Events & Communication for Sarphati Sanitation Symposium & Awards Internship
World Waternet is looking for a motivated intern who will support the project team that creates, prepares and guides the 2019 Sarphati Sanitation Symposium & Awards Ceremony.
Sarphati Sanitation Symposium & Awards
In 2013 Aqua for All, World Waternet and the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) initiated the Sarphati Sanitation Awards (SSA). This year, the Water Supply & Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) joined the team to honor the best contributions in the field of sanitation and public health. Two prizes are awarded during the opening ceremony of the Amsterdam International Water Week (AIWW) which will take place from 4 to 8 November 2019:
1. Sarphati Sanitation Award for Promising Entrepreneur
2. Sarphati Sanitation Award for Life Time Achievement
The AIWW, an biennial event, is an international platform to connect those who face water challenges with those who can contribute to solutions. This year’s theme is ‘Implementation of Integrated Solutions by cities, industries, utilities and financiers: from cases to bankable projects.’ Leading innovators from municipal operators, industrial system developers, utilities and production chain designers will discuss the ambitious task to improve water system management. The Sarphati Sanitation Symposium is a side-event of the AIWW.
A good and sustainable standard solution for sanitation, as an alternative to the western solution, has still not been found. The Sarphati Sanitation Symposium provides a platform for, and promotes sustainable sanitation solutions. Together with the project team you will create, prepare and guide the event program. You will work in preparation of the event, but are also present on days of the event. Your activities include:
- Support the team that organizes the symposium and the SSA.
- Communication and marketing (social media, newsletters, online platforms, etc.).
- Point of contact for external relations, speakers, nomination and jury members.
- Organize the stay, AIWW access and program of Award winners and jury members.
- Order materials and items for the events.
