Inter Aide is intervening in Mozambique in Nampula province since 2004. The WASH project started in Nacala district and then moved to Memba district, doing mostly boreholes drilling and the package of Hygiene sensitization and Sanitation.

Progressively has been set up a specific program of maintenance, training hand pump technicians and linking local groceries to main suppliers of spare parts in town in order to facilitate the work of water committees. After that the classic WASH programme ended in Nacala (but still ongoing in Memba), meanwhile the maintenance programme continue. A local partner in the name of the cooperative OSUWELA handle it and now extended to Memba, Monapo, Mossuril.

Inter Aide seeks WASH evaluation specialists to conduct an external evaluation that will permits 1. to validate information and results reported to donor, but also 2. to measure the relevance and impact of the whole programme and give recommendations for improvement.

Terms of reference are detailing the context, objectives of this final evaluation of the WASH project of Inter Aide « Improvement of hygiene and sanitation conditions, access to drinking water and water-point maintenance services for rural communities in Mozambique – Districts of Memba, Nacala-a-Velha, Monapo, Mossuril and Nacarôa ». Inter Aide is expecting recommandations especially on a set of specific questions that the team would like to enquiry more in depth.
