Description

The Third Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Towns Development Project focuses on increasing the economic activities in the East West Economic Corridor (EWEC) through improvement of urban services in the three cities Mawlamyine, Hpa-An and Myawaddy, Myanmar. The three expected output of the project are covering aspects of urban development planning including an aspect of industrial zone planning, urban management improvements, upgrading and construction of social infrastructure to improve water supply and solid waste management, and institutional capacity building at governmental level.

The team leader will (i) assist in the overall organization of the assignment; (ii) guide, supervise, and coordinate the work of all team members; and (iii) take overall responsibility for assisting efficient project implementation; (iv) establish the consultant’s office, and coordinate and manage the overall consulting services inputs; (v) develop strong working relationship with the executing agency, implementing agencies, and PMOs, and ensure smooth coordination among them;

Qualifications required

Master Degree in civil engineering or a related discipline from an internationally recognized university.

Professional experience required

- 15 years of professional experience in externally funded urban infrastructure projects, in particular water supply projects,
- 10 years of experience in team leadership for externally funded projects.
- Previous experience working on projects in Southeast Asia financed by ADB and developing technical preparatory documents for the Asian Development Bank is required.
- Working experience and knowledge from Myanmar is a strong advantage.

Duration

40 man months over a 7 year project duration (2019-2026)
