Overview

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks a Media & External Affairs Earth Hour Intern. The Media & External Affairs Earth Hour Intern manages all outreach and tracking for Earth Hour, focusing on traditional and We Are Still In specific areas of outreach. The intern assists in communications tasks as needed, including drafting materials and developing media lists.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Outreach to landmarks for lights out (includes reaching out to past participants as well as identifying new participants)
  • Outreach to cities for lights out (includes reaching out to past participants as well as identifying new participants)
  • Outreach to universities for lights out (includes reaching out to past participants as well as identifying new participants)
  • Outreach to full We Are Still In list of partners
  • Handles all incoming questions regarding Earth Hour from potential participants
  • Media relations support
  • Analytics post-Earth Hour
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong research skills are required.
  • Media relations experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational/analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively over email and the phone.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who knows how to take projects and run with them.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications is preferred.
