AMCOW is the driving force behind the AfricaSan movement, a regional initiative that has been working to place sanitation and hygiene at the top of the development agenda in Africa. In 2008, the Summit of Africa Union Heads of States and Governments mandated AMCOW to co-ordinate the implementation and monitoring of the eThekwini Declarations – which seeks to assist African countries to accelerate the achievement of national and global targets on water, sanitation and hygiene. Since then, AMCOW has in collaboration with the AfricaSan International Task Force, a coalition of partners working in the area of water and sanitation in Africa, organized the AfricaSan 1, 2, 3 and 4 conferences.
AMCOW is seeking the services of a consultant to support the communications of the AfricaSan 5 conference and manage the AfricaSan awards. The consultant will develop and implement all communications activities and programs leading to the conduct of the AfricaSan 5, manage the conference reporting and coordinate the AfricaSan awards.
Specifically, the communications consultant will be responsible for the following:
i. AfricaSan 5 Communications
ii. AMCOW AfricaSan Awards
iii. AMCOW/AfricaSan website and AfricaSan Dedicated website
iv. AfricaSan International Task Force
